A look back at Green Day’s 5th studio album, Nimrod, released on Octo. Includes live stats, fan ratings, song meanings and lyrics.

Well all I can really say is that this album kicks fucking ass!! I'm surprised that it didn't sell as well as Dookie or Insomniac. Green Day's biggest hit of all time, Good riddance, is one of the most relaxing songs I've ever listened to. I think that any fan of Green Day or just good music should get this cd!

Still, Nimrod suffers from being simply too much -- although it clocks in at under 50 minutes, the 18 tracks whip by at such a breakneck speed that it leaves you somewhat dazed. With a little editing, Green Day's growth would have been put in sharper relief, and Nimrod would have been the triumphant leap forward it set out to be. As it stands Price: $

  2.  · Certified at 10 million units by the RIAA. (2/01)Green Day couldn't have had a blockbuster without Nirvana, but Dookie wound up being nearly as revolutionary as Nevermind, sending a wave of imitators up the charts and setting the tone for the mainstream rock of the mid-'90s. Like Nevermind, this was accidental success, the sound of a promising 5/5(6).
